Over the course of 10 months, Signs Express (Harlow) has worked closely with the Hospice marketing manager, retail manager and design team to update 8 retail stores with the newly redesigned St. Clare logo and branding.
Anyone who now ventures into one of St. Clare Hospice retail shops can't mistake the bright new signage and internal graphic branding now in place. The brief was to create a unified look, personalised to each location in order to emphasise the particular niches of each store, all within the charity's budget. To maintain continuity throughout the project, Signs Express (Harlow) allocated a single member of the team to work alongside the team from the Hospice and offer them expert advice to ensure that their requests were met. St. Clare Hospice stores are located throughout West Essex and Hertfordshire in Harlow, Great Dunmow, Debden, Bishops Stortford, Loughton, Epping, Saffron Walden and Buckhurst Hill. The unified look that the new signage has created is maintained throughout the store fascias – some buildings more suited to external tray signs, others requiring frame and sign panels, but all displaying the familiar St. Clare Hospice logo and colourings. Vinyl window and door graphics also held a prominent place in the re-brand. Inside each shop, the signage was designed to suit the needs of each particular store – a varied combination of cable & pocket wall displays, full colour wall graphics, interior display sign panels, payment desk branded panels and in the case of Scarlet (St. Clare's vintage clothing outlet) a bespoke digitally printed 'scarlet' wall covering. Project manager, Karen Griffiths, commented 'It's been an absolute pleasure to work with you and the team at Signs Express. I've been so pleased with the Hospice signage and the shop re-brand work, so thank you.' To complement the whole new look, Signs Express (Harlow) decided to donate the new vehicle livery for the charity's Ford Transit Luton, which is often to be seen collecting larger items of donated furniture. 'St. Clare Hospice provides invaluable care and support to the people of West Essex and East Hertfordshire, generally at a time when they are at their lowest ebb. We wanted to show our support, albeit in small way, for their fabulous work by ensuring that their vehicle is noticed in all the areas they work,' commented Paul Heywood, co-owner of Signs Express (Harlow). In common with many other charities, St. Clare Hospice shops rely entirely on donations - every item contributed helps to raise vital income for the Hospice. As the Hospice's specialist care services are provided without charge, it needs to raise more than £2.4 million each year through donations and other voluntary sources to maintain this level of care and the retail shops play an important part in this.
