Signs Express (Grantham) was announced as winner of coveted Best Sign Project award at this year's Signs Express Awards Ceremony held on Friday 28th November at the Nottingham Belfry hotel. In a change to the standard voting process, the awards were voted for by the franchisees for the first time ever, making this a true reflection of the centre's talent.
More than just a conference, this year, Signs Express was celebrating their 25th birthday and so the convention was very much a celebration. Welcoming franchisees from their 70 centres across the UK and Ireland, the convention was a huge success, celebrating past achievements and looking towards the future. The blind vote for the sign awards took place at lunchtime on the day of the convention with the entries displayed on boards lining one of the walls at the conference. Signs Express (Grantham) stood out from the crowd with their entry for the project they completed for AVG Technologies. The company's offices are situated on half a floor of an existing office block and were looking for something a little different and lively to fit in with their corporate ethos. The Grantham sign makers certainly delivered on this, providing everything from window graphics, to wall signs, to car park signage. Various print and cut messages were produced and fitted to the walls of the main offices, and other individual office spaces, the most impressive being a run of 11 metres of inspirational phrases which were fitted in the corridor serving all of the offices. Venessa Chin, Sales Director at AVG Technologies commented: 'In 2013 AVG moved its UK headquarters from Newark to Lincoln and we needed a sign company to decorate our new offices. Our signage is an essential component of our global brand and we selected Signs Express for their focus on reproducing branding to a consistent quality. We were extremely pleased at their ability to stick closely to a brief and deliver results of a high standard, on time and to budget.' Signs Express (Grantham) is owned and run by Ian Charles. The centre, which offers a full range of signs and graphics solutions, covers areas in around Grantham such as Newark-On-Trent and Sleaford.
