We assisted Hull's construction firm, Hobson & Porter with the £20m Project – Aura Innovation Centre. The project combines 15 years of University of Hull research with the practical realities experienced in industry to shape the future of offshore wind.
Working with the architects, we brought their visions to life by creating large window graphics using digitally printed Spandex Contravision (aka one-way vision film) and hand cutting to the perfect finish to recreate the striking logo on the large exterior. Not only did we successfully complete the large statement piece of "Aura", we also assisted in applying etched manifestation dots to over 200 windows. These dots were applied to comply with the Workplace Health & Safety Welfare Act, covering the critical location areas on the internal windows. The centre will bring together experts from the University of Hull with ‘green’ companies across the Humber region. A major milestone in the Humber region’s clean energy journey has been reached as work was completed on the £12m Aura Innovation Centre. Hobson & Porter Managing Director, Richard Hunter, said: “We’re very excited to have been appointed as the main contractor of this landmark project. The project will be our eighth scheme in the offshore energy sector, which is remarkable considering we have never stepped foot offshore! This is a true reflection of the economic impact the sector is bringing to our region.” Here at Signs Express Hull, we love getting involved in projects that make such a big impact on our surroundings, and Aura Innovation are set to do so in the wind energy sector.
