Can I Put Signage On A Leased Van?
In short, yes. In 20 years, we have yet to hear of a lease company that has said no to this request, so we can confidently say that you should be able to put signage on your leased van (or car) with no issues. In some instances, it may even work out in your favour to do so, continue reading to find out why…
As vans are mostly leased for business purposes, lease companies understand that most of their clientele will want to add signwriting to their vehicle. Personalisation of some sort is a common request for lease companies with some even including the cost of van signwriting in with the lease financing. As is to be expected with any contract, the item must be returned in near enough the same condition as it was originally received, i.e. not with a ton of signage all over it. So, before you take your van back to the lease company, you will simply need to remove any graphics that you have added. Some companies will stipulate that graphics must be professionally removed, but you must check this with them directly. We would also generally advise that you have your graphics removed professionally, however, if you are set on doing it yourself, have a look at our quick how-to guide and video on how to properly remove signage from your van.
Why bother putting signage on a van you don’t own?
With the most typical lease lasting from 3 – 5 years, if you DON’T get signwriting added to your van, that is 3 - 5 years of missed opportunity. With the average signwritten van paying for the graphics itself within the first 6 months of installation there really is no valid reason to skip out on van signage.
Van signwriting is the only thing that differentiates you from the 3.9 million others that are on the road in the UK. Also, when it comes to insuring your new vehicle, generally, vans with logos/graphics are seen as safer by insurance companies as they are less likely to be the target for theft. They are easier to track and make a less desirable target. So potentially, you may be able to lower your premium if you opt for adding van graphics. Each insurance company will have their own policies and will adjust prices accordingly, so as always, do directly consult with them before making any firm decisions.
Protecting the vehicle is often the main concern we have from our customers, so we end up doing quite a few full and partial wraps. Being able to effectively advertise a business as a result of using protective vinyl is a big positive and sorts two birds with one stone. We use only the highest quality 3M branded vinyl, so your signage will last and when you come to the end of your leasing term, you can be sure of a fast, clean removal of your graphics.
