Supporting the Local Community
Back in 2017, Nick Baxter-Sibley from Signs Express Exeter saw a tweet seeking help from Montgomery Primary School regarding their community garden sign. The school, in collaboration with St Thomas Residents Association and Blooming St Thomas, had set up a community garden to teach children about food origins and foster community participation. They were looking for a sign to encapsulate the essence of the community garden and explain the concept of the shared space but also invite people to join hands with the school in nurturing the garden.
Back in 2017...........
The original sign crafted by Signs Express had done the job of promoting the community garden concept perfectly. However, with time, the garden evolved, and a new sign was needed to explain its current usage.
........and now
When St Thomas Community Garden contacted Signs Express for a new sign, we were delighted to be involved in the project once again and provide a replacement sign free of charge by way of supporting this project in the local community. The updated sign didn't just explain the garden's concept; it showcased the ongoing activities and highlighted the collaborative efforts that kept the space thriving.
Marion Baxter-Sibley, Director, commented “It’s great to see that the Community Garden has thrived since we first supplied a sign. It was a pleasure to be able to continue supporting such a worthwhile project”.
