Signs Express Southampton was recently approached to assist with the Mayflower Cruise Terminal £6m refurbishment project following the successful completion of a signage project for the City Cruise Terminal back in 2013.
The project for the Mayflower Terminal included way-finding, information and safety signage for both the interior and exterior of the Terminal, the majority of which were illuminated for high impact and visibility. The Cruise Terminal was completely gutted in order for the work to be completed to the highest possible standards. The project had a very strict and tight deadline and so all the signage visuals and specifications had to be created using 3D architects render and drawings before the Terminal was re-built. This presented many challenges for Signs Express Southampton during the installation due to the fact they had to work alongside other trades whilst the building was being transformed. Overall the project went very smoothly and Rebekah Keller, operations and security manager for Associated British Ports, commented: 'I would like to thank each and every one of you (and your teams) for the brilliant teamwork I have witnessed over the past months and in particular this last week, in order that we are ready for the first vessel call at Mayflower Terminal tomorrow. This has not been a straight forward project and I'm sure the next few weeks will be testing, however, it is extremely important that we recognise this impressive achievement. Many thanks again and I look forward to working with you all in the future.' The Mayflower Cruise Terminal is one of Southampton's largest main cruise terminals, conveniently located just one mile from southampton Central Train Station.
