Our Work
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining
Having recently moved to a prestigious location in London NW1, The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) needed to stamp its identity on the new building. Working alongside IOM3's in house designer Signs Express (Harlow) provided signage and graphic solutions to reflect the history of the Institute whilst introducing some elements specific to the science of materials. A strict deadline needed to be met, to ensure the Euston Road premises were ready for the official opening by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh on 10th November.
Inside the building a variety of interior signage was provided. Brushed stainless steel wall panels depicting the chemical element and atomic numbers of a variety of metals complete with brass engraved panel depicting entrance/room names were supplied and installed. A previously plain stairwell is brought to life with bespoke printed vinyl images installed. A bigger transformation is that of the lift - the modern steel elevator face has printed graphics applied to give the impression of an old mine shaft lift, totally in keeping with the organisation's history. Turning to the exterior of the building, further brushed stainless steel plaques in the style of those inside now earmark the two entrances along with double sided projecting banners to highlight the location of the Institute.
